Fraction Words

TermDefinition
Fraction Part of a whole
Numerator How many pieces (the top number)
Denominator The size of pieces (the bottom number)
Mixed Number A whole number mixed with a fraction
Equivalent Fractions Two or more fractions that have the same value
Simplify Divide to find an equivalent fraction with smaller digits
Common Denominator Make equivalent fractions so they have the same denominator
