Sequence | A pattern involving an ordered arrangement of numbers, geometric figures, letters, or other objects |

Arithmetic sequence | Sequence of numbers in which the difference between any two consecutive terms is constant |

Geometric sequence | Sequence of numbers in which the ratio between any two consecutive terms is constant |

Horizontal asymptote | A horizontal line that a function gets closer and closer to, but never intersects |

Vertical asymptote | A vertical line that a function gets closer and closer to, but never intersects |

Basic Function | The simplest function of its type |

Transformation | The mapping, or movement, of all points of a figure in a plane according to a common operation |

Vertical translation | Type of transformation that shifts the entire graph up or down |

Horizontal translation | Is a shift of the entire graph left or right |

Coordinate notation | Notation that uses ordered pairs to describe a transformation in a coordinate plane |

Argument of a function | Is the variable in which the function operates |

Reflection | Is a mirror image of the graph about the line of reflection |

Line of reflection | Is the line that the graph is reflected about |

Leading coefficient | Is the numerical coefficient on the term with the greatest power |

Second difference | The difference between consecutive values of first differences |

Standard form of a quadratic function | F(x)=ax^2+bx+c |

Slope intercept form of a linear function | F(x)=mx+b |

Standard form of an exponential function | F(x)=a*b^2 |

Parabola | The shape of a quadratic function when it is graphed |

Interval | The set of real numbers between two given numbers |

Open interval | (a,b) describes the set of all real numbers between a and b, but not including a or b |

Closed interval | [a,b] describes the set of all real numbers between a and b, including a and h |

Half-closed or half-open interval | (a,b] describes the set of all numbers between a and b, including b but not including a. [a,b) describes the set of all numbers between a and b, including a but not including b. |
