Set design, Sound Design, Light Design

Arena Stage Set design: A stage with seating on all 4 sides
Box Set Set design: a set that consists of two walls or three and a ceiling
Curtain Set Set design: set uses wall or drapery at the back of set
Cyclorama Set design: curtain that covers the back wall and sides of the stage.
Drops or backdrops Set design: decorated canvas or muslin curtains that form a part of the scenery
Elevation Sketch Set design: drawing that shows how the stage will look from the perspective of the audience.
Flats Set design: canvas stretched over wooden frames, painted, and used scenery
Minimal set Set design: A set made of two or three fold flats that create walls
Permanent set Set design: set that remains in place throughout the entirety of the production
Prism set Set design: A set made of triangles of flats mounted on wheels
Hollywood flats Set design: (flats) Wood-made flats
Muslin Set design: (flats) fabric made cheap
Pariactoi Set design: (flats) three flats together into a triangle into a triangular prism
Proscenium Set design: stage that the audience looks through the 4th wall to see the play.
Scrim Set design: gauze like curtain used as a drop
Set pieces Set design: furniture and other 3-D objects
Teaser Set design: a heavy curtain or frames that adjusts the height of the procenium
Thrust stage Set stage: a low platform stage that juts our into the audience
Unit set Set made of pieces that can be re-arranged
Fly space Set design: space above the theatre space that is unseen to the audience where one would keeps all things that fly in during the show
Act curtain Set design: the big red curtain in front of the stage
Tormentors Set design: curtain/flat at each side of the proscenium opening used to regulate the width of the opening
Barn doors Lighting: light accessories that have moveable flap to control the light beam
Batten Lighting: a pipe above the stage to hold lights or scenery
Border lights or strip lights Lighting: long narrow strip of lamps and reflectors
Cross light Lighting: when two spotlights are placed on opposite sides of the stage at a 45 degree angle
Dimmers Lighting: controls that change the Level of light intensity
ERS lighting: ellipsodal Reflective spotlight With a strong beam that can precisely focused
Floodlights Lighting: lights that illuminate broad areas of the stage
Follow spots Lighting: Spotlights that produce strong beams of light that follow an actor as they move across stage
Fresnel Lighting: spotlight whose beams create soft-edged light pools
Gelatins (Gels) Lighting: transparent color sheets
Gobo Lighting: a metal sheet with a punched out design that produces a patterned effect
Roundels Lighting: colored glass discs
Scoops Lighting: lights that illuminate broad areas
Spill Lighting: Unwanted light leakage
Spotlights Lighting: lights that produce concentrated illumination
Tableau Lighting: a visual effect in which actors stand in a frozen position
Amplifier Sound: a device that provides the power supply for the speakers
Body Mic Sound: a small mic that can be hidden in the performers clothing.
CD-R Sound: a compact disc used for recording and playing back sound
Crash Box Sound: a heavy box filled with glass or broken shards used for sound effects
DAT Sound: a small tape used for recording audiotape
Digital Audio Software Sound: computer software that allows the user to mix sounds together
Equalizer Sound: Device that balances the high, medium, and low frequencies from each sound source to achieve desired sound.
Mini disks Sound: fairly small disks that contain digital recordings that can be played back
Public Domain Sound: Work that belongs to the public - free to anyone
Sound Board Sound: The device that controls all incoming sounds and allows them to be mixed or manipulated as desired
transmitter sound: device that sends signal from the mic to the receiver.
