Bacteria A single celled organism prokaryotes no nucleus with three basic shapes find in spiral rodlike and sphere there shape is determined by the cell wall
Asexual Reproduction Reproduction process that only includes one parent and produces an identical offspring
Flagellum A long whip like structure that extends from the cell membrane and passes through the cell wall used by the cell to move
Bianary fission A process in which one cell divides to form to identiticle cells( asexual reproduction)
Conjunction When one bacterium transfers its genetic material to anther
Endospore A small rounded thick walled resting cell that forms inside a bacteria
Bacterial survival needs food some are heterotrophs some are autotrophs, respriation, endosprore formation
Decomposer An organism that breaks down large chemicals from dead organisms into small chemicals and returns important material to the soil and water
Infectious disease A disease that can pass from one organism to another
Toxin A poison that can harm a organism
Antibiotic A chemical that kills bacteria or slows the growth without harming the body cells of humans
Virus A small non living particle that invades and reproduces inside a living cell
Host A living thing that provides a source of energy for a virus or organism
Parasites Organisms that live in a host and cause harm to the host
Vaccine A substance that stimulates the body to produce chemicals that destroys bacteria and viruses
All viruses have two basic parts Outer coat for protection inner cord with genetic materials
Bacteriaphage A virus that infects bacteria
