QuestionAnswer
Ideology –noun, plural -gies. (NOUN) Beliefs. The new Church's ideology seem strange to others in town because it was different from their own.
Paradox (NOUN) Contradiction, false proposition. The paradox on the test confused the students. Little did they know it was a trick question.
dissemble (VERB) to disguise or pretend. I dissembled my face with a paper bag because I had a huge zit on my nose.
propriety (NOUN) the appropriateness of the circumstance, decency. The speech the queen made at dinner was of the utmost propriety.
providence (NOUN) a divine government. Kings and queens are part of a providence that rules over a certain type of people
vindictive (ADJ.) hateful, revengeful. I once had a vindictive teacher who penalized me for having ADHD.
smirch (VERB) to discolor or soil; spot or smudge with or as with soot, dust, dirt, etc. I smirched her shirt with ice cream when she made fun of my hair, oops.
trepidation (NOUN)trembling fright. When I heard I had 2 more weeks to live i was struck with trepidation.
subservient (ADJ.) a slave to. I am subservient to my almighty english teacher, Mr. H.
hypocrisy (NOUN) deceitfulness, pretense. Teachers taking our phones away is hypocrisy because they always take out theirs.
partisan (NOUN) person devoted to another or cause. I am a partisan to SAVE DARFUR. Over the past years i have gone to rallies and donated lots of money
calumny (NOUN)a false and malicious statement designed to injure the reputation of someone or something. The rumors spread her were calumny.
inert (ADJ.) having no inherent power of action, motion, or resistance. The paralyzed man was completely inert.
prodigious (ADJ.) extraordinary in size, amount, extent, degree, force. The sumo wrestler was prodigious.
exude (VERB)to come out gradually in drops, as sweat, through pores or small openings; ooze out. I exuded sweat after gym. Cute.
