Atmosphere JG

TermDefinition
Air Pressure Measure of that air molecules push on the surface
Atmosphere A mixture of gases that surrounds the earth
Altitude Angle between an object and the horizon
Thermosphere The uppermost part of the atmosphere where the temperature increases as the altitude increases
Troposphere Lowest layer of the atmosphere where temperatures increases as altitudes increase
Stratosphere The layer of the atmosphere that is above the troposphere in which the temperature increases as the altitude increases
Mesosphere The layer of the atmosphere between the stratosphere and the thermosphere and the temperature decreases as the altitude increases
Ionosphere A place where oxygen absorbs harmful solar rays
Ozone Layer A area that protects life on Earth by absorbing radiation
Greenhouse effect The process where oxygen and carbon dioxide are reflected back at the earth
