NUSRINS CARE OF NASOEPTOPLASTY monitor vitals and bleeding, report excessive swallowing, monitor dressings, teach to avoid aspirin and actives of increase pressure
SINUSITIS (WHAT IT IS) inflammation of sinus mucosa (bacterial or allergic reaction)
SIUNITIS SIGN AND SYMPTOMS pain over affected sinus, fever, nasal discharge
SINUSITIS THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS saline irrigation, corticosteroids, decongestants, hot packs, acetaminophen, humidification, oral fluids, positioning, antibiotics, surgical drainage
RHINITIS common cold (treated with fluid, rest, and vitamin - so just treat the symptoms)
PHARYNGITIS sore throat (treat with medication and the problem)
LARYNGITIS inflammation of the larynx - hoarse voice (treat with medication)
TONSILLITIS inflamed tonsils and have antibiotics
PREVENTION OF THE FLU yearly vaccination, hand washing, avoidance
INFLUENZA SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS fever, chills, myalgia (muscle weak), sore throat, cough, malaise (fatigue), headache
INFLUENZA THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTION acetaminophen, avoid aspirin, antivirals agents -amantadine, rest, fluid
IINFLUENZA NEW VIRUSES bird flu, SARS, swine flu, west nile
CANCER OF LARYNX (PATHOPHYSIOLOGY) primary tumor of mucosal epithelium, metastasizes to lung, liver, lymph
CANCER OF THE LARYNX (ETIOLOGY) associated with smoking, alcohol (more common in men)
CANCER OF THE LARYNX SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS hoarseness, change in voice, pain, dyspnea, cough, dysphagia, airway obstruction
CANCER OF THE LARYNX DIAGNOSIS laryngoscopy, CT, MRI
CANCER OF THE LARYNX THERAPEUTIC INTERVENTIONS radiation, chemotherapy, laryngectomy
