Vocabulary

TermDefinition
Benchmark Reference number used to estimate the size of other numbers.
Sales Tax A tax on goods and services purchased, which is added to the buyers cost.
Ratio A comparison of two numbers by division.
Ratio Table A table that provides equivalent ratios.
Equivalent Fractions A set of fractions with the same value.
Tip The amount of money given for services provided (usually between 15% to 20%).
Discount A deduction from the usual cost of an item.
Percent A special number that compares a number to 100.
Unit Rate A comparison of two quantities in which the second number being compared represents a quantity of 1.
Percent Proportion Part over Whole = Percent over 100
