QuestionAnswer
Electrons: : they orbit the nucleus, moving near the speed of light and have a (-) charge
Protons: they are found inside the nucleus and have a (+) charge
Nucleus a positively charged central core of an atom consisting of protons and neutrons and containing nearly all of its mass
Atom: the smallest unit of matter that contains characteristics of each element
Neutrons they are found inside the nucleus and have no charge ( )
Matter: anything that has mass and takes up space that is made up of atoms and elements
Periodic Table: a table where elements are organized by increasing atomic number
