relative pronoun a word such as "who" "whom" "which" "that" or "whose" that introduses a dependent clasue functioning as a adjective.
adjective a word or phrase that describes nouns, pronouns or other adjectives.
independenet clause a group of related words containing both a subject and a predicate that can stand alone as a complete sentence.
conjuction a conjuntion is a word that joins or links other words, phrase, or clasues. conjunctions connect graammical units.
coordinating conjuctions the prefexs "co" means equal so a coordianting conjuction joins or links together elements of equal/similar grammalical functions.
compound subject two or more elements acting as a subject joined by a coordinating conjuncton and shared the same predicate
compound predicate two or more actions that are carried out by the subject and joined by a coordinating conjunction
senctence fragment
terminal puncuation a punctuation makes signaling the end of a complete idea or sentence.
comma splice two or more idependent classes that are joined together by means of only a simple comma.
fused sentence two or more independent clause improperly joined together with no punctuation at all between them.
conjunctive adverb a traditional word included as part of sn independent clause that expresses a persise relationship between it and another independent clause.
perposition a word or words that indicate the relationship of a noun or a pronoun to other parts of the sentence.
perpostional phrase beginning with a prepasitional and ending with a noun or pronoun that serves as its object, including all words in between.
object by the preposition the noun or pronoun in a prepasition /phrase thst the prepasition refers to.
pronoun a word that stands in place of a pronoun and functions as a noun.
main verb the primary action of a subject,usually included as partof a full predicate.
auxiliary helping verb a verb that can stand alone as a main verb, or combine if necessary, iwth a main verb to complete its meaning.
