What is a natural person? An individual human being
How can you serve a natural person? In person anywhere within jurisdiction, leaving a copy with someone who lives at the dwelling who is of suitable age and discretion, or leaving a copy with an agent authorized to accept service
When may a process be served? Anytime of any day of the week
How can you serve a corporation? Delivering a copy to an officer, director, or managing agent; or leave a copy with someone who is apparently left in charge; or leaving a copy with an authorized agent
How can you serve a partnership? Delivering a copy to any general partner in person, any authorized agent, or anyone left apparently in charge
How can you serve an unincorporated association, organization, or society other than a partnership? Delivering a copy to an officer, director, managing agent, or member of the governing body, or leaving a copy with anyone left apparently in charge, or leaving a copy with an authorized agent
How can you serve a sole proprietorship? Like a natural person
How can you serve a city, town, or village? Delivering a copy to the mayor, city manager, or city clerk
How can you serve a county? Delivering a copy to the county manager, the chairman, or any member or clerk of the board of commissioners
What is the four step process for serving a summary ejectment? Mailing a copy, delivering a copy in person, posting a copy, and calling the defendant
How long do you have to mail a copy of the summary ejectment? No later than the next business day
How long do you have to attempt to call the defendant if the officer chooses to do so? 5 days
How long do you have to make in-person contact with the defendant at their abode? 5 days
