Why didn't Odysseus kill Polyphemus when he had the chance in the cave? Because if he killed Polyphemus him and his men would not be able to move the giant doorway. They'd be stuck and wouldn't be able to escape.
What is the principle of xenia? hospitality to all strangers or guests.
How does Polyphemus feel about Zeus? He doesn't care for him.-"We cyclops car not a whistle for your thundering Zeus."(Homer 153)
When Polyphemus asked Odysseus about where his ship was why did Odysseus lie? To prevent Polyphemus from raiding his ship and killing all of his men.
What was Odysseus plan of escape from Polyphemus? Odysseus planned to get Polyphemus drunk so he'll be easy to attack. Then blind him with a giant charded stick/spear and open the doorway. Then Odysseus and his men will escape on the bellies of Polyphemus' rams.
What does Odysseus tell Polyphemus his name was? Nobdy
Why did Odysseus tell Polyphemus his name was Nobdy? So when Polyphemus told the other cyclops they would think nobody was there and causing Polyphemus a problem.
