What are the effects of simile rhyme etc?

Alliteration creates a memorable image for the reader. The words link together with sound.
Repetition Emphasise a certain point Makes a text more powerful
Emotive language Make the reader feel a particular way. Emotional response from ( eg anger, shock, guilt ). It can create a positive or negative effect
Simile Create an similar image within the reader's mind more memorable
Metaphor Creates a vivid image within the reader's mind,
Personification Makes a description more human and brings it to life.
Five senses. Imagery descriptions of sounds, sights, smells, feelings, taste Gives more detail to text Adds layers of description helps create an image within the reader's mind
Rhythm Gives a pace or beat to the writing. It can slow down or speed up. It may reflect the theme or mood.
