| Constant | A term that has no variable. |
| Coefficient | A numerical factor of a term. |
| Like Terms | Terms that have exactly the same variable factors. |
| Identity | An equation that is true for every value of the variable. |
| Consecutive Integers | Integers that differ by one. |
| Uniform Motion | An object that moves at a constant rate. |
| Literal Equation | An equation involving two or more variables. |
| Independent Variable | Values of the input. |
| Dependent Variable | Values of the output. |
| Relation | A set of ordered pairs. |
| Domain | The set of first coordinates of the ordered pairs in a relation. |
| Range | The set of second coordinates of the ordered pairs in a relation. |
| Function | A relation that assigns exactly one value in the range to each value in the domain. |
| Vertical Line Test | A way to analyze the graph of a relation to determine if it is a function. |
| Function Rule | An equation that describes a function. |
| Function Notation | When you use f(x) to indicate outputs in a function. |
| Continuous Graph | A graph made up of an infinite number of points, like a line, a ray, or even a segment. |
