Integer A whole number; can be positive or negative
Rational Number Group of numbers that include positive and negative integers, decimals, and fractions
Additive Inverse Two numbers that add to 0; opposites (i.e. 5 and -5)
Opposite Numbers that are the same distance away from zero in the other direction; additive inverses. Ex: 4 and -4
Commutative Property States that order does not matter for addition and multiplication
Distance A positive number that describes how far apart two numbers are
Change A number that describes how far apart two numbers are AND also shows a direction
Absolute Value Describes the distance a number is from zero; always positive
Equivalent Equal in value
