The events that led up to the making of the bandit, Kissin Kate Barlow are... 1. Katherine, a teacher, asked Sam the Onion Man to help her fix the school. 2. Katherine & Sam fell in love & kissed. 3. Someone saw them kiss. 4. Sam was killed for kissing a white woman & no one would help Katherine stop it from happening.
Stanley drove off in the water truck because... He wanted to find Zero. He was worried Zero would die without water.
Stanley found Zero in a... boat, turned upside down, drinking sploosh. He was dirty, weak, and refusing to go back to camp.
Stanley was innocent of the crime he was charged with because... Zero stole the shoes. He needed a pair and took them. When he figured out that he did something terrible, he put the shoes on top of a car and when it drove away, the shoes fell and hit Stanley on the head.
Stanley was glad that the shoes hit him on the head because... he eventually broke his family's curse and brought his father luck with inventing a spray to eliminate foot odor. It also helped Zero find his mother.
