Pyramids Built in ancient Egypt as tombs for pharaohs
Engineering The application of scientific knowledge for practical purposes
Black Land fertile soil on either side of the Nile
Red Land deadly desert on outer sides of the Black Land
New Kingdom high point of power and prosperity
King Tut tomb was left untouched for 3000 years; provides much evidence about the civilization
Hieroglyphics Egypt´s form of writing; one of the first in the world
Papyrus Egyptian writing material made from reeds; very similar to paper
Rosetta Stone same message was written in 3 languages on it; one was Hieroglyphics and this was the key that unlocked the Egyptian language
Geometry developed it because floods required them to regularly redraw boundaries; also needed for pyramids
