Term | Definition |

Customs | A habitual practice; the usual way of acting in given circumstances. |
Culture | A particular form or stage of civilization, as that of a certain nation or period. The quality in a person or society that arises from a concern for what is regarded as excellent in arts, letters, manners, scholarly pursuits, etc. |
Dialect | A variety of a language that is distinguished from other varieties of the same language by features of phonology, grammar, and vocabulary, and by its use by a group of speakers who are set off from others geographically or socially. |
Society | An organized group of persons associated together for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes. |
Tradition | The handing down of statements, beliefs, legends, customs, information, etc., from generation to generation, especially by word of mouth or by practice. |
Anthem | A song, as of praise, devotion, or patriotism. |
Flag | A piece of cloth, varying in size, shape, color, and design, usually attached at one edge to a staff or cord, and used as the symbol of a nation, state, or organization, as a means of signaling, etc.; ensign; standard; banner; pennant. |
Nation | An aggregation of persons of the same ethnic family, often speaking the same language or cognate languages. |
Holiday | A consecrated day or religious festival, especially one other than Sunday. |
Carnival | A traveling amusement show, having sideshows, rides, etc. |
Ceremony | The formal activities conducted on some solemn or important public or state occasion. |
Celebration | The festivities engaged in to celebrate something. |
Clothing | Garments collectively; clothes; raiment; apparel. |
Festival | A period or program of festive activities, cultural events, or entertainment. |
Landmark | A prominent or conspicuous object on land that serves as a guide, especially to ships at sea or to travelers on a road; a distinguishing landscape feature marking a site or location. |
