correlation coefficient indicates how closely the data points form a straight line; the closer to 1 or -1 means the data is closer to forming a straight line; the closer to 0 means the data is far from represent a straight line
standard form of a linear equation is Ax + By = C where A, B, and C are constants and A and B are not both zero
slope-intercept form of a linear equation is y = mx + b where b is the y-intercept and m is the slope (rate of change)
