What are Natural Counting Number? Give and example | Numbers that you first learn... Ex: 1,2,3,4,5,6... |
What are whole numbers? Give an example | All positive numbers including 0. Ex: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6..... |
What are Integers? Give an example | Numbers and their negatives Ex: -1, and 1 -2, and 2 |
How do you turn whole numbers into Fractions? Give an example | Put the number over 1. 7 as a fraction is 7/1 |
How do you turn terminating decimals into fractions? Give an example | Put the number over 10,100, 1000....and so on based on what size the numbers is. Ex: 0.125 as a decimal would be 125/1000 |
How do you turn repeating decimals into fractions? | Multiply decimal by whatever number that will make it a whole number. Then subtract the original decimal by the new number. Subtract 1n from the amount that you multiplied the decimal by(10,100,1000). Finally turn it into a fraction. |
How can you tell what number to multiply your repeating decimal by to make it a whole number | 1number= *10 2numbers= *100 3numbers= *1000 |
How can fractions be changed to decimal? | Divide your numerator by the denominator. Make sure to put the number on the top on the inside of the long division sign. |
What is a Repeating decimal? | A number or numbers that repeat Ex: 0.166666 |
What are Terminating decimals ? | Decimals that DO NOT repeat. NEVER!!!!!! |
What is the best way to compare rationals? | To change the fraction to a decimal by dividing the numerator by the denominator |
