What are Rational Numbers? Any number that can be expressed as a fraction or decimal(A.K.A. all of you numbers including negatives,decimals,and fractions,)
Give examples of rational numbers -1, 2, 90, 3, 0 -7
What are Natural Counting Number? Give and example Numbers that you first learn... Ex: 1,2,3,4,5,6...
What are whole numbers? Give an example All positive numbers including 0. Ex: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6.....
What are Integers? Give an example Numbers and their negatives Ex: -1, and 1 -2, and 2
How do you turn whole numbers into Fractions? Give an example Put the number over 1. 7 as a fraction is 7/1
How do you turn terminating decimals into fractions? Give an example Put the number over 10,100, 1000....and so on based on what size the numbers is. Ex: 0.125 as a decimal would be 125/1000
How do you turn repeating decimals into fractions? Multiply decimal by whatever number that will make it a whole number. Then subtract the original decimal by the new number. Subtract 1n from the amount that you multiplied the decimal by(10,100,1000). Finally turn it into a fraction.
How can you tell what number to multiply your repeating decimal by to make it a whole number 1number= *10 2numbers= *100 3numbers= *1000
How can fractions be changed to decimal? Divide your numerator by the denominator. Make sure to put the number on the top on the inside of the long division sign.
What is a Repeating decimal? A number or numbers that repeat Ex: 0.166666
What are Terminating decimals ? Decimals that DO NOT repeat. NEVER!!!!!!
What is the best way to compare rationals? To change the fraction to a decimal by dividing the numerator by the denominator
