Pure substances and Mixtures

What is a pure substance? It is a type of matter that contains only one kind of particle.
What is a mixture? It is matter that contains two or more pure substances mixed together.
What is a Solution? ( homogeneous) It is a mixture that looks like a single pure substance. Actually, it is a uniform mixture of two or more pure substances
What is a Mechanical Mixture? ( heterogeneous ) It is a mixture with different parts that you can see. e.g. granola bar, cereal and milk, raisin barn muffin, pencil crayons in a pencil case.
What is the particle theory? The particle theory of matter helps scientists to explain two key things: What matter is made of and how matter behaves.
What is matter? Matter is anything that has mass and takes up space.
What is Chemistry? Chemistry is the study of matter and its changes.
What is the difference between a solid, liquid and gas? The difference between a solid, liquid and a gas is: how the particles are moved and how the particles are arranged.
What is the difference between a pure substance and a mixture The difference between them two are that a pure substance is a type of matter with ONE kind of particle, and a mixture is a type of matter that contains two or more pure substances mixed together.
