Absolute Value A number's distance from zero.
Composite A number made of more than 2 factors.
Equivalent Equal in value.
Exponential Notation A number written with a base and an exponent.
Inequality A mathematical sentence that shows the relationship between quantities that are not equal.
Integer Negative and positive whole numbers including 0.
Percent Percent means part per 100.
Prime A number made of only 2 factors.
Rational Numbers A number that can be written as a fraction, without a denominator of 0.
Reciprocal Flipping the numerator and denominator of a fraction.
Unit Rate A quantity that is one unit.
Area The number of square units needed to cover a surface.
Nets A two- dimensional figure that can be folded to form a solid.
Polygon An enclosed, many sided figure with strait lines.
Prism Three dimensional figure made up identical ends and flat faces.
Surface Area The sum of the areas of the faces of a 3D figure.
Vertex A corner of a point where lines meet.
Volume The number of cubic units contained in a three-dimensional object.
(algebraic) expression Numbers. symbols, and/or operations grouped together that show the value of something.
Base A number that is raised to a power.
Equation A number sentence that uses an equal sign.
Exponent A number that indicates how many times the base is used as a factor.
Variable A letter takes the place of a unknown number.
Mean The average of a set of numbers.
Median The middle number when the numbers are arranged from least to greatest in a set of data.
Mode The most repeated number.
Range The difference between the greatest and the least value in a set of data.
