| Integer | The set of whole numbers and their opposites |
| Absolute Value | The distance between a number and 0 on a number line |
| Opposites | Two numbers that are the same distance from 0 on a number line, but on opposite sides of 0 |
| Additive Inverse | The opposite of a number |
| Associative Property of Addition | Changing the grouping of addends does not change the sum |
| Associative Property of Multiplication | Changing the grouping factors does not change the product |
| Commutative Property of Addition | Changing the order of addends does not change the sum |
| Commutative Property of Multiplication | Changing the order of factors does not change the product |
| Distribute Property | To multiply a sum of difference by a number, multiply each number in the sum of difference by the number outside the parentheses. Then evaluate. |
| Order of operations | The order in which to perform operations when evaluating expressions with more than one operations |
| Rational Number | A number that can be written as a/b where a and b are integers and b ≄ 0 |
| Whole Number | The numbers 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ... |
| Terminating Decimal | A decimal that ends |
| Repeating Decimal | A decimal that has a pattern that repeats |
