| Volatility | Tendency to evaporate |
| Heterogeneous | A mixture that is composed of dissimilar components; lumpy |
| Homogeneous | Has the same composition throughout; smooth |
| Melting point | The temperature at which a substance melts |
| Malleability | Ablity to be shaped or bent |
| Luster | Shinyness |
| Ductility | Ablity to be drawn out into a wire |
| Mass | A measure of how much matter is in an object |
| Density | Amount of mass of a substance contained in a given volume; mass divided by volume |
| Thermal conductivity | Ability to transfer heat |
| Volume | The amount of space a sample of matter occupies |
| Compound | A substance made of two or more elements chemically combined in a set ratio |
| Electrical conductivity | Ability to conduct electricity |
| Matter | Anything that has mass and takes up space |
| Freezing point | The temperature at which a liquid changes into a solid |
| Flammability | How readily a substance burns |
| Reactivity | How readily a substance reacts |
| Boiling point | The temperature at which something boils |
| Acid/base | How acidic or basic something is; pH |
