Substitution A quantity may be substituted for its equal in any expression. if t=6 and 2t=2[6]=12
Additive identity add 0 to a variable. 10+0=10
Additive inverse equals 0 when adding. 5+[-5]=0
Multiplicative identity multiplying by 1. 21x1=21
Multiplicative property of zero multiplying by 0 equals 0. 31x0=0
Multiplicative inverse for every number a/b, where a, b=0, there is exactly one number b/a such that the product of a/b is 1. a/bx b/a=1
Commutative the order in which you add or multiply numbers Does not change the sum or product. 3+2=2+3. 4[7]=7[4]
