Preterite endings and usage / rules

-er / -ir endings í, iste, ió, imos, isteis, ieron

Verbs that end in -car, -gar, and -zar change spelling in the __ form yo
-car verbs change the c to __ qu
-zar verbs change the z to __ c

Verbs that end in -eer (and oír), change the i to __ in the __ and __ forms. Accents are on the __, __, and __ forms y / el / ellos / tu / nosotros / vosotros leer: leí, leíste, leyó, leímos, leísteis, leyeron
Estar: estuve, estuviste, estuvo, estuvimos, estuvisteis, estuvieron
Hacer: hice, hiciste, hizo, hicimos, hicisteis, hicieron
Ir / Ser: fui, fuiste, fue, fuimos, fuisteis, fueron
Dar: di, diste, dio, dimos, disteis, dieron
Ver: vi, viste, vio, vimos, visteis, vieron
Decir: dije, dijiste, dijo, dijimos, dijisteis, dijieron
Traer: traje, trajiste, trajo, trajimos, trajisteis, trajeron
verbs that end in -cir follow the form of traer and decir: conducir - conduje, condujiste, etc producir - produje, produjiste, etc traducir - traduje, tradujiste, etc
Conocer, saber, poder, no poder, querer, no querer all have different meanings in the __ preterite
Andar: anduve, anduviste, anduvo, anduvimos, anduvisteis, anduvieron
Tener: tuve, tuviste, tuvo, tuvimos, tuvisteis, tuvieron
Poder: pude, pudiste, pudo, pudimos, pudisteis, pudieron

Saber: supe, supiste, supo, supimos, supisteis, supieron
Haber: Hubo
Querer: quise, quisiste, quiso, quisimos, quisisteis, quisieron
Venir vine, viniste, vino, vinimos, vinisteis, vinieron
