Rational Functions and Equation

| discontinuous function | A function whose graph has one or more jumps, breaks, or holes. |
| excluded value | Values of x for which a function or expression is not defined. |
| inverse variation | A relationship between two variables, x and y, that can be written in the form y = k/x, where k is a nonzero constant and x is not equal to 0. |
| rational equation | An equation that contains one or more rational expressions. |
| rational expression | A algebraic expression whose numberator and denominator are polynomials and whose denominator has a degree greater than or equal 1. |
| rational function | A function whose rule can be written as a rational expression. |
