Exponents and Polynomials

| perfect-square trinomial | A trinomial whose factored from is the square of a binomial. a^2 -2ab + b^2 = (a-b)^2 or a^2 +2ab + b^2 = (a + b )^2 |
| polynomial | A monomial or a sum or difference of monomials. |
| quadratic | A polynomial with a degree of 2. |
| scientific notation | A method of writing very large or very small numbers, by using powers of 10. |
| standard form of a polynomial | A polynomial in one variable is written in order from greatest to least degree. |
