| central idea | the unifying element of the story, which ties together all of the other elements of fiction used by the author to tell the story |
| cite | quote (a passage, book, or author) as evidence for or justification of an argument or statement, especially in a scholarly work. |
| conveyed | make (an idea, impression, or feeling) known or understandable to someone; communicate (a message or information). |
| details | an individual or minute part; an item or particular. any small section of a larger structure or whole, considered as a unit. |
| determine | to settle or decide (a dispute, question, etc.) by an authoritative or conclusive decision. to conclude or ascertain, as after reasoning, observation, etc. to cause, affect, or control; fix or decide causally: |
