TermDefinition
Absolute Value The distance between the number and zero on a number line.
Opposite are numbers that are the same distance from zero in opposite directions. Since 0 is not negative nor positive 0 is its own opposite.
Place Value Denominator Denominator that is power of 10
Divisor The number you divided by
Dividend The number being divided
Rational number Any number that can be represented as a fraction ( including integers and 0)
Integers Positive whole numbers, their opposite and zero
Whole Number Positive numbers with no fractional parts including zero
Quadrant Any of the 4 areas made when we divide up a plane by an x and y axis
Reciprical One pair of numbers whose products is 1: the Reciprical of 2/3 is 3/2
