New Terms introduced in Unit 2

Interquartile range A range of values in the middle 50% of all the data values.
Median A number that divides ordered data into two halves.
Mode The value that appears most frequently in a set of data.
Outliers An observation that does not fit the rest of the data.
Percentiles A number that divides ordered data into hundredths; example: A person may be told they are in the 60th percentile for height.
Quartiles A number that divides ordered data into quarters: A company may be in the top 25 percent for profits.
Standard deviation A measure of the overall variation in a data set.
Mean The average of all the values in the dataset.
