Vocabulary about Communication and the Internet

The Internet or the net a network connecting computer users worldwide.
Broadband fast internet connection.
Wi-Fi cable free connection to the internet.
To browse (verb) look for information on the internet.
A browser (noun) software that helps you to browse the internet (e.g. Internet Explorer).
A search engine helps you to locate what you want on the internet (e.g. Google).
A website a document on the Web giving information about a place or person.
The Web a huge part of the internet containing linked documents called pages.
Homepage the introductory page of a website containing links to other pages.
To navigate a website to find your way around a website.
A blog is an online diary that allows readers to add comments to what has been written.
A wiki is a website that people can add, delete and edit its contents.
