QuestionAnswer
Define diameter the distance across a circle. It goes through the center and touches the circle twice. It is twice the radius.
Define radius The distance from the center of the circle to the cirlce's edge. It is half the diameter. You need the radius to find area.
Define circumference Distance around a circle. C=πd or c=2πr
Define area of a circle Amount of flat space inside a circle. A = πrr or pi times radius squared
To find the radius if you know the diameter Divide by 2
To find the diameter if you know the radius Multiply by 2
Formula for area of a circle Pi times radius squared. Or πrr
Formula for circumference C=πd Or c=2πr
How do you find the diameter if you know the circumference? Divide by 2π
How do you find the radius if you know the area? Divide by π, then find the square root
