SSC Math 8 Real Numbers-Operations

TermDefinition
square root a number that is multiplied by itself to form a product
simplify to perform all possible operations, including combining like terms; to write a fraction or expression in simplest terms
absolute value a numbers distance from zero
scientific notation A method of writing very large or very small numbers by using powers of 10
perfect square a number that has integers as its square roots
perfect cube a number that has integers as its cube roots
exponents the number that indicates how many times the base is used as a factor
expression Numbers, symbols and operators (such as + and ×) grouped together that show the value of something.
