TermDefinition
Matter Anything that has mass and takes up space.
Element A substance that cannot be broken down into any other substance by chemical or physical means
Atom The smallest particle of an element.
Molecule A neutral particle made of two or more atoms joined by covalent bonds.
Compound A substance made of two or more elements chemically combined in a specific ratio, or proportion.
Chemical formula A combination of symbols that represents the elements in a compound.
Weight Force of gravity on an object.
Mass A measure of the number of atoms in it.
ISU(International System of Units) a system of physical units based on the meter, kilogram, second etc.
