| Socrates | A man who believed that people must never stop seeking knowledge. He was a teacher as well as a thinker. Socrates taught by asking questions. |
| Plato | Plato was a student of Socrates. He was a teacher as well as a philosopher. He created a school, the Academy, to which students, philosophers, and scientists could come to discuss ideas. |
| Aristotle | Perhaps one of the greatest Greek thinkers. He was one of Plato's students. He taught that people should live lives of moderation or balance. |

| Euclid | Euclid is one of the worlds greatest mathematicians. He wrote about the relationship between mathematics and other fields. A branch of geometry we study in school is named after Euclid. |
| Hippocrates | The greatest Greek doctor. He wanted to figure out what caused diseases so he could better treat them. He is most famous for his ideas of how doctors should behave. |
