Energy vocabulary practice
| Term | Definition |

| Thermal Transformation (energy) | energy of atoms and molecules that are constantly in motion (heat). Moves from areas of high temperature to areas of low temperature |
| Mechanical Transformation (energy) | energy possessed by an object to its kinetic or potential energy. |
| electrical Transformation (energy) | The energy of electrically charged particles moving from one place to another. |
| solar power (energy) | Energy from the sun |
| hydroelectric power (energy) | Power generated from moving water. |
| Wind power (energy) | energy from the wind |
| green energy | Clean or Renewable energy, energy that is non-polluting and/or renewable, such as solar power, wind power, biofuel, and hydrogen. |
| electrical circuit | A complete path through which electric current can flow |
| battery | A device that converts chemical energy to electrical energy |
| Parallel Circuit | A circuit where the electrical charge passes through every object (bulb, buzzer, etc.) on the line. |
| Series Circuit | a circuit in which the parts are joined one after another such that the current in each part is the same |
| Mechanical Advantage | he number of times a machine multiplies the input force |
| Wedge | An object with at least one slanting side ending in a sharp edge |
| Screw | An inclined plane wrapped around a pole |
| Pulley | A grooved wheel with a rope or cable around it |
| Inclined Plane | A slanted surface with one raised end and one lowered end, such as a ramp. |
| Wheel and Axel | a wheel with a rod in the center |
| Lever | A stiff bar that rests on a support called a fulcrum |
