Real Numbers All Numbers
Irrational Numbers Non-terminating or non-repeating numbers (can’t be written as a fraction) *The number goes on and on with no set pattern*
Rational Numbers Numbers that can written as a fraction, terminating or repeating decimal
Integers Positive and negative whole numbers …-2, -1, 0, 1, 2…
Whole Numbers Positive numbers including zero 0, 1, 2, 3…….
Natural Numbers Counting numbers 1, 2, 3, 4…….
Square Roots A number that produces a specified quantity when multiplied by itself
Perfect Squares A number that has a whole number square root
Cube Roots A number that produces a specified quantity when multiplied by itself three times
Terminating Decimals A decimal that ends
Repeating Decimals A decimal numeral that, after a certain point, consists of a group of one or more digits repeated
Radical An expression that has a square root, cube root, etc
Radicand The number under the (radical) symbol
