What is the standard form for an absolute value function? f(x) = a |mx+b| +c
What does the symbol |x| denote? |x| denotes the absolute value of x, which is the without its sign. For example, |+4|=4 |-4|=-4
There are two forms of absolute value inequalities. What are they? One with LESS THAN, for example, |a|<6 One with GREATER THAN, for example, |a|>6 Note: They are solved differently!!
What are some others names (or terms) for absolute value? Other names for absolute value include "numerical value," "modulus," and "magnitude.
