Civil adj. 1. Having to do with citizens and their relation to each other and to the government 2. Fairly courteous 1. My parents always vote because they believe it is the most important civil duty. 2. Although Jasmine was angry with her friend, she managed to give a civil answer to his question.
Civilian 1. n. A person who is not in the military 2. adj. Relating to civil life 1. Many countries agree that during a war civilians should not get attacked by those who are fighting. 2. After serving in the navy for two years, my brother returned to civilian life.
Civility n. Courteous behavior Nathan greeted his unwelcome guests with civility, but no with affection.
Uncivilized adj. 1. Without an organized or developed society, wild 2. Acting without courtesy or consideration 1. The Chinese believed that the Mongols, who took over their kingdom in the thirteenth century, were uncivilized

Extraordinary adj. More than ordinary, beyond what is expected, remarkable The extraordinary length of the Mississippi River makes it one of the ten longest rivers in the world.
