What was the tell-tale heart? It was the narrator's heart. He thought he was hearing the old man's heart but it was actually his. He was getting more anxious per minute.
In what way has the old man previously wronged the narrator? In absolutely no way. "I loved the old man. He had never wronged me" (Poe 2)
The narrator claims that his attitude toward the old man has always been Loving. "I loved the old man" (Poe 2)
What the madness done to the senses of the narrator? Sharpened them.
How long did it take for the narrator to place head into the door so he could kill the old man? An hour. "It took me an hour to place my whole head within the opening so far that I could see him as he lay upon his bed." (Poe 3)
How many times did the old man shriek? Once. "He shrieked once-once only" (Poe 11)
What was it that made the narrator confess that it was him? The beating oh his own heart.
