Balanced Chemical Equation A chemical equation that has the same number of atoms of each element involved in the reaction on both sides of the equation.
Chemical Equation A written statement that uses chemical symbols and chemical formulas instead of words to describe the changes that occur in a chemical reaction.
Equation Coefficient A number that is placed to the left of the chemical formula of a substance in a chemical equation and that changes the amount, but not the identity, of the substance.
Formula Mass The sum of the atomic masses of all the atoms represented in the chemical formula of a substance.
Molar Mass The mass, in grams, of a substance that is numerically equal to the substance's formula mass.
