| Sample Space | The set of ALL possible outcomes in a probability experiment. |
| Tree Diagram | A representation of the total possible outcomes. |
| Random Digits | Digits arranged in no particular order. It is not possible to predict the next number. |
| Outcome | A possible result of a probability experiment. |
| Event | A collection of outcomes in a probability experiment. |
| Simulation | When an artificial process for generating an outcome is substituted for a probability experiment. |
| Compound Event | There is more than one event or outcome that occurs. |
| Fundamental Counting Principle | Multiplying an event that has a certain number of outcomes by another event that has a certain number of outcomes |
| Simplify | To reduce a fraction to a simpler form by dividing with common factors. |
