| audiometer | a tool used to measure the volume of a certain sound | They use audiometers to see how loud a stadium is |
| benefactors | factors that are good for someone or something | there were many benefactors that helped lead to the American victory of New England in the revolutionary war |
| corps | a body of people associated together | The corps got together to decide on what the company should do |
| dictator | a ruler that is savage and cruel to the people he rules | The dictator was very cruel to the people who he ruled over |
| duress | being held or constrained by threat | The woman was under duress while being held captive |
| equate | to make equal | During the 1960's there was a big movement to equate rights in America |
| hydraulics | being operated or using a liquid | That cars hydraulics make it move much faster |
| navigator | a person who is trained to navigate a ship or plane | The navigator said we only need to sail 30 miles west and we will be there |
| biped | a creature with two legs | Humans are the biggest species of bipeds |
| psychopath | one with a diseased mind | Many people on earth are suffering from being psychopaths and are not being treated for it |
| Omniscient | having total knowledge | Ben really seems Omniscient in school |
| dissent | to differ in opinion | Many people are dissent when it comes to Trump and Hillary |
| solitude | condition of being alone | The sate of solitude made the man become crazy from being alone so long |
| absent | to be late or away | I earned a detention from being absent after being late the third time |
| intercept | to seize or take away | When the ball was intercepted from the other team and they lost the ball |
| malady | bad health | The women's health was in a state of malady and she was in the hospital for days |
| unicellular | having only one cell | There are no humans that are unicellular since it takes many cells to make the human structure |
| arestee | someone who is being arrested | The arrestee was getting put in the police car |
| islet | a little island | there are many islets around the main island of Hawaii that are much smaller |
| historian | a person who studies history | Mr Hileman is a very popular historian at our school |
| abusive | using more than needed | The man was abusive with his dog so the dog was taken away |
| dentist | a person who takes care of teeth | The dentist fixed my teeth and helped me heal them |
| audiometer | meter used to measure volume of sounds | The audiometer read that the class was very loud |
