Potential difference

Define potential difference The work done in bringing a charge of one Coulomb from one point to the other
What is the unit of potential difference? The volt
Define electric current. A flow of electric charge
Define potential at a point. The potential difference between a point and the earth
Define capacitance. The ratio of charge on a conductor to its potential
What is the unit of capacitance? The farad.
Name 5 common uses of capacitors. Functions as a variable capacitor to tune into a radio station. Smooths out variations in current. Camera flash. Allows some frequencies through and blocks others (filtering). Allows alternating current through but blocks direct current.
