Tree diagram Graphical representation of different possible outcomes in compound event
Symmetry When one shape becomes exactly like another if you flip, slide, or turn it
Solid figure 3 dimensional object
Scientific notation A way of writing a number as theproduct of the power of ten and a decimal number greater than or equal to 1 and less than 100
Scatter plot a graph of plotted points that show the relationship between two sets of data
Ratio Relationship between 2 quantities
Random Occuring with out a pattern
Protractor An instrument for measuring and drawing angles
Outlier A piece of numerical data that is much smaller or much larger than the rest of the data set
Line plot A graphical representation of data using X's or other marks to show frequency on a number line
Inequality Mathematical sentence that shows the relationship between 2 expressions that are not equal
Equation Mathematical sentence that shows 2 expressions are equal
Diagram A drawing used to describe something
Data A collection of information such as numbers, words, measurements, or observations
Compound event A combination of simple events
Circumference Distance around a circle
Box plot Graphical representation of distribution data based on the minimum, 1st quartile, median, 3rd quartile, and max
Bias A question that encourages a particular response
Additive inverse When you add to a number to get zero- called opposite
Absolute value The distance between a given number and zero
