Softball
| Term | Definition |

| Home Run | When the person up to bat hits it over the fence or far enough they have enough to time to score around all the bases. |
| Single | When the batter hits the ball only far enough to get to the first base. |
| Double | When hits the ball far enough to score only to the second base. |
| Triple | When the batter hits the ball only far enough to score to the third base. |
| Pickle | When a runner on base steals and gets stuck between two bases that have to infielders on each side trying to get them out or to keep them from advancing to the next base. |
| Pitcher | The person on the field who pitches to the batter which allows the batter to hit the ball. |
| Catcher | The person behind the plate to catch for the pitcher and to keep the ball from going behind them. |
| First Basemen | Is in charge of first base and to cover it. |
| Second basemen | Stands between second and first base to keep any balls from reaching the outfield and to cover first and second at convenient times. |
| Short Stop | Stands between second and third base to keep any balls from reaching left field and to cover second and third at convenient times. |
| Third Basemen | Is the infielder in charge of covering third base. |
| Center Field | In charge of covering the center field |
| Left Field | In charge of covering left field. |
| Right Field | In charge of covering right field. |
| Pop Fly | A ball that gets hit by the batter that is in the air and has to be caught. |
| Grounder | A ball that gets hit by the batter that it rolling on the ground and has to be stopped in your glove or in front of you. |
| Batter | The person who is either on the right or left side of the plate with a bat and helmet ready to receive a pitched ball from the pitcher to hit. |
| Bunt | When instead of swinging as hard as you can at the pitched ball you place the bat at a straight line in front of you and allow the ball to bounce of landing slightly in front of the batter instead. |
| Slap Bunt | When the batter stands in the left back side of the plate and allows the pitch to get part way and then slowing runs while swinging but without leaving the box early. |
| Steal | When the runner on base leaves after the ball leaves the pitchers hand to steal second, third or home. |
