| claim | the thesis statement that arises from a question which in turns rises from the examination of information. |
| counter argument/counterclaim | acknowledging the opposite side of your argument |
| ethos | remind audience who you are and why you are a person to belive |
| evidence | sufficient-enough of |
| exigence | what is going on in the real world that lead to the authors argument |
| logos | use research and statistics to back up your arguements |
| pathos | use descriptive language and imagery |
| rhetoric | the art of effective speaking or persuasive writing |
| warrants | evidence of how the evidence supports the claim |
