TermDefinition
Covert (adj.) not openly acknowledged or displayed. Lisa was shy so she hoped to be covert on the first day of school.
Furtive (adj.) attempting to avoid notice or attention, typically because of guilt or a belief that discovery would lead to trouble; secretive. my mother was furtive on my sister outfit.
Inconspicuous (adj.) not clearly visible or attracting attention; not conspicuous. my brother was going for a inconspicuous look.
Sly (adj.) having or showing a cunning and deceitful nature. my sister is a sly as a fox when it comes to lying.
Stealthy (adj.) behaving, done, or made in a cautious and surreptitious manner, so as not to be seen or heard. she was stealthy as she slipped into the dining room.
Surreptitous (adj.) kept secret, especially because it would not be approved of. my cousin has a surreptitious boyfriend.
Unobtrusive (adj.) not conspicuous or attracting attention. we mad sure to be unobtrusive because we were late.
Clandestine (adj.) kept secret or done secretively, especially because illicit. he hid himself in a clandestine manor
