Unit 7
| Term | Definition |
|---|---|
| Point | An exact location in space. Infinitely small. Point Q |
| Line | A straight line that never ends in either direction. Made from an infinite number of points. Name by two points. Line AB |
| Line Segement | Part of a line. It has two endpoints. Name by the endpoints, such as Line Segment AB" |
| Intersecting Lines | Two lines that share one point or, if extended, have the potential to share a point |
| Perpendicular | Lines or segments that intersect to form 90 degree angles |
| Parallel Lines | Lines or segments that never intersect or cross |
| Ray | A point and all the points extending in one direction. Name from the endpoint to another point on the ray. Ray BA |
| Plane | Flat surface that extends forever in all directions. Normally planes are represented by a parallelogram |
| Angle | Two rays that have the same endpoint |
| Skew Lines | Two lines that do not intersect and are not parallel. They are not on the same plane |
| Collinear Points | Two or more points on the same line. If you can draw a straight line through any number of points, they are collinear |
| Bisect | The point or line that divides a line or geometric figure exactly in half |
